Sorry the Lightness was a typo. The terms seem to be common

terms that those with Conn's use. I know they aren't terms that a doctor always

understands. I have been asked mant times to describe what I feel. Something I

can't realy do.

The one problem with the poll is you can only ask one question. depending on

what input is given other polls can be used.

I have seen the term brain fog used a lot and after seeing it used I can under

stand what it means. I have refered to my self is being lightheaded. Now I

think brain fog fits better.

Since I don't drink or smoke including the special

cigarettes. I cant say what the felling is like when drunk. I have seen others

say there brain fog is somewhat the felling they get when drunk.

With me the fellings never goes away there are times it is better then others.

So far I don't know what makes it better or worse.

All the questions you ask should answered. Just don't know how to put some of

them in the polls

I see my doctor at least every 3 months. This is his choice to see me this often. We have talk many time about the lightheadness. I have tried to tell him what I feel but so far haven't been to successful. Partly because the feeling changes and partly he is trying to fit sx into his knowledge of them. To him lightheadness means you feel like you are going to faint and dizzness means the room spinning around. What I feel is not quite being dizzy of like I am going to faint. I is a feeling I can not truly explain. The brain fog seem to better fit.

Hopeful by others telling if it helped them. If what my poll is already showing It could you help you. If someone comes to you and says they have brain fog you may have a better idea of what they mean.

You have questions here that all doctors should ask. Also some of them should be asked outside of this format. Like the heart rate breathing and vision

Does brain fog mean an inability to concentrate?

Is this how you did your poll? From your word file it looks like you had a

choice where one could write there own responses. I also think a poll off site

would reduce the numbers that reply.

No that is not true. They learned all of this in Medical School. Assuming they went to class that day. U should know that many medical students don't go to class but read Class notes. Cognitive

dysfunction (or brain fog) is defined as unusually poor mental

function, associated with confusion, forgetfulness and difficulty

concentrating.

When I have these episodes, the

description above is most suitable and I too call it a ‘brain fog’.

For example, I define " brain fog " as

- when I am reading, and suddenly I am unable to understand what is on the page- when I am watching TV and nothing makes sense

- having a conversation, then suddenly not remembering  and feeling confused

- difficulty concentrating at times.

The episodes for me can come on suddenly, at other times it can last most of the day.

I note that it doesnt seem to correlate with K levels.

At least for me this is only a part of it. Do you have a feeling of things are

quite real? feel like a zombie? Almost feel like you are dizzy?

My Harvard-educated family

practice doc had never heard about PA.

My endo seems totally foggy about it. My ob/gyn has not only heard about it

but understands the issues. Go

figure.

No

that is not true. They learned all of this in Medical School. Assuming they

went to class that day. U should know that many medical students don't go to

class but read Class notes.

Patients

suffer from this schrade.

Francis/ is probably somewhere in the evolution to

PA. The problem is that he has

LVH. How that is being addressed.

My

So to help others and my self we need all the help we can get. We need

information in ways that makes sense to us. It needs to be readily available.

Right now this group seem to be the place to get this information. However the

More should be in files but right now it is almost imposable to look at all the

Polls can be used by any one If the information only helps one person then that

The term brain fog is in the PAsurveyresults.doc. So someone else has used it

before. By it self it doesn't mean much but I can understand what they are

talking about. We now have others trying to describe how they perceive it to be.

I hope many more tell there stories.

While it would be nice to have someway that truly explaines it. Some how I don't

think you can truly do this. What we need to know is if it is Conn's related.

I have this term used as well in searching for Conn's " a feeling of being unwell

for a long time " . Just what dose mean? I can relate to it as I am sure others

can. But it does you doctor very little good to tell him this.

I think there are many vague Sx at least at first with Conn's. Many of Conn's SX

are the same for other diseases.

There are may places I read High blood pressure may be the only SX on Conn's

other then here I have never see many other SX of Conn's What are the text book

SX of Conn's? Not what you know them to be but what do they teach in Med school.

First The name thing. I have many Email accounts set up. Each one for different

reasons. I wanted a place that only has this groups information. I set up a

account uesing my fathers name Bill. At the time I didn't know that the

name would show up with every posting. Once I realized this I change the profile

name to my name. Francis. It only changed it as to this site and not in my

account. If I reply to posting on the group site Francis Bill shows up. From my

account Bill shows up.

I will post more about my EKGs and other tests. Of the many I have had only one

EKG show the LVH. not sure why this is but would like to know if it could be due

to low k on that day. My thinking is K plays a role in your body's electrical

system. EKGs are measurements of your hearts electrical system. Can low k change

hearts electrical system and give wrong reading on EKG?

I think calling it "saltaholic syndrome" is more accurate. Now that I take no ACE inhibitors, I can indulge in as much potassium chloride as I need to flavor my food. My only downfall is cheese.

Early on, my communication on the Inet required me to use basic English as much as possible and I found even some technical terms like "metabolic syndrome" told me nothing.

Dr Grim changed that to eataholic syndrome - explains everything.

I have no idea what you might experience but I have seen people suddenly forget the point they're trying to make.

If a person has to think about whether they have "brain fog", probably means they don't have it.
