Guest guest
So to get the amount of salt in a packet from McDs youi would need to drink about 20 glasses. This not a major source of Na. Unless device not working. Can you ask the water softener people how they test for salt in the water and maybe we can use that. You can also send samples to the state in most cases. If you carefully diluted urine and sent it they would not know is my guess and you could back calculate how much Na in original urine. ;-) Clarence Grimlowerbp2@... Guest guest
If you drink the 8 glasses of water a day you could add 100 MG of sodium a day. Don't know how much you might add useing this water to cook with. While this may be a small amount of sodium it does add to your daily amount. You are also loseing calcium and magnesium from the water. If there is any question about the sodium you can run a pipe from before the water softener to the cold water supply in your sink. In one of my jobs I took care of a water softener. The test to see if there was no salt was something that turned red with salt and blue with no salt. Don't think this would help us much. > > > This is a warning to those that have water softens. water from them > > if The way a water soften works is by removeing calcium and > > magnesium ions from hard water and replace them with sodium ions. > > An 8-ounce (236 milliliters) glass of softened tap water contains > > up to 12.5 milligrams of sodium. > > > > >
Guest guest
Still would be worthwhile checking out. May not work in range we need for human urine. Can you try to track supplier down and test your own urine? Clarence E.
