Hi ,

In a late response to your topic, yes, my employer forced me to resign. They did

help in making sure I had all of the correct forms completed. I am not sure of

your state regulations but if you do have to go on Family Medical Leave.

Immediately make an appointment with Social Security Disablity.

HI ,

OH YA. My employer use to ask me all the time, how I could still drive my bus

but I have lots of trouble walking. I kept telling her,I passed my mandated

physical so I can drive and still work. She then remind me that on the back of

the forms the goverment mandated forms it stated that if a person has neuro

problems they cannot be allowed to drive. Well I pointed it out to her that the

next sentence stated if it interfered with my ability to drive. NO it does not

at that time.

But I must point out here, that I always went to my own doctor and he filled out

the form and did not go to the company clinic for my

physical. They would of flunked me in a minute for no reflex. MDA clinic would

write a prescription stating I was still able to work and my CMT did not

interfer with my abilities. My doctors told me a long time ago that I was the

one who would know when it was time to stop.

And one day I said, OK it's time. When I turned in my letter stating I was

leaving, my boss sat down and cryed and asked me not to go, but I said it was

time and I knew I had to. No regrets on my part. Sure I miss the kids, but

safety first when it comes to driving

a school bus. I miss all 200 of 'em.

I am glad that you are not ready to give up work. I hope your employer does not

force you to. You and you alone will know when the day comes that you have to

make that decision. In the mean time, hang in there and keep contributing all

you can. Good luck to you.

Wade,

I work for the state of Kentucky. I work for Child Protective Services. You

would think a group of social workers would be more understanding. I'm not quite

ready to give in yet. I can still make a contribution

(if they will allow it). Thanks for your response.
