Guest guest
Hello all, I talked to Dr. Brodsky (Orthopedic surgeon) last week and I have decided to have him perform my foot surgeries. He said that each foot will require two surgeries. The first one being the major one, he said this will include 1) moving bone around on the back bottom of the foot to help roll over, 2) straightening the arch/midfoot and 3) moving tendons around. The second operation is to fix the toes. The main (first) operation will require non-weight bearing for about 3 months. Well that's a synapses. What concerns me most is the recovery period. Since going on disability, I have had extended periods of restlessness where I am up and about trying to do things. I think it will be hard for me to be immobile for 2-3 months at a time. I have been thinking and planning things to do that will allow me to be immobile, but it will still be hard (and I am not yet factoring in the physical pain). Does anyone here have advice/input on how to successfully handle the recovery period? Thanks -Rob
