Guest guest
Hello! Almost a year ago my normal 12 year old daughter was diagnosed with OCD. It was sudden onset & I believe it was caused by strep exposure. A round of amoxicillin, though, didn't help her. Luvox, klonopin, prophylactic penicillin and CBT gave her her life back and (mostly) freed her from her consuming fears about vomiting. Nevertheless, fears, anxieties, meltdowns continued to interfere with her joy and spontaneity. I know you know this story from your own experiences. A little more than two weeks ago, a respiratory infection caused her to throw up; she also took a prescription for azithromycin (zithromax). Believe me: she no longer has OCD. It is like a cloud passed over her, she is her old self again. It may be as she believes: facing her worst fear blew it away, a sort of self-directed immersion therapy. I share this story with you all in hopes that we will find out that it is the antibiotic. Her story, like all of yours, is complex. E-mail me if you would like additional details: msbopeep@.... Please post any treatment successes or failures to this list! Peace, and good fortune to us all! Judith Wilkinson
