Hi everyone, i'm new here so thought I'd share my story. I live in

England and my 2 1/2 yr old girl,Amy has idiopathic scoliosis. She is

currently in her 1st cast which she has had on for about 3months (which

i feel is quite a long time after reading that some of your children

have theirs changed every 6 weeks!)I first noticed that Amy had a

larger hip on one side when she was 10 months old, the doctor told me

it was soft tissue so i left it at that, however her hip became more

noticable and i could see that her back wasn't straight, i took her

back to the doctors to be reassured that it was only soft tissue, after

the 3rd time i asked to be referred to a specialist which was when she

was finally diagnosed with scoliosis(she was 2 by now)After having her

MRI scan i was told that she would be casted for about 2 years, though

surgery may be needed at the end of this time, does anyone have an

infant that has been told they may need surgery but as the time came

they have just used braces instead? i would appreciate any information,

thanks, jade
