A Real Life Weightlifting Puzzle

Here's a puzzle perhaps someone can solve. I've tried for about

three years with no success.

Condition 1: You have a subject whose pectoral muscles hypertrophy

only in response to low rep training. High volume workouts, even

GVT, has little to no effect on increases in pectoral muscle mass.

Condition 2: Once the subject uses the standard 5x5 paradigm for a

period of two weeks, his left elbow joint becomes extremely sore.

After three weeks, his left shoulder aches as well. His ligaments

start " tearing, " like when you pull string cheese. The subject

rarely trains with doubles or triples, because of the " tearing "

affect.

Misc.: The subject has tried Knox, glucosamine, and chondrointin for

months, with no positive results. The subject has strong rotator

cuffs, from years of doing Cuban presses and other various rotator

exercises. In other words, it's the ligaments, not weak stablizer

muscles, that cause the problem noted in C2.

What sort of training protocol would you prescribe for a person who

wants to increase his pec size, but is limited by the above

conditions?
