I remember when Adam was 5 he needed to rest a lot. He would ride under the

shopping cart or sit somewhere. He would just burn himself out and fall every

few steps. It drove me crazy. I remember running around ignoring pain and

weakness just thinking it would go away. I was puzzled as to why I could run

before and not fall or get tired. So I

just kept going. Adam had to learn to pace himself.

You can talk to your daughter about taking rests before she gets so tired she

can't move. Or just let her figure it out. Adam just had to learn on his own. I

can't tell you how many pants he ripped at the knees from falling at school. He

wanted to run and play so bad.

Short rests do work. I do remember playing my Mom for attention. I

exaggerated pain and fatigue sometimes. I think for your daughter it is to soon

to assume she is playing you.She is very confused and needs extra attention at

this point.

Hi ,

I totally agree that Katelyn needs to learn to pace herself and to take short

rest periods. I do think this is something that she will have to learn for

herself because she is not ready to miss out on anything - no matter how tired

or weak her legs might be. Reading others own experiences have helped me see

things in a different light.I do not want CMT to control Katelyn rather I want

Katelyn to control her CMT.

Thank you for the good advice about " Katelyn playing me " . Whether she is in

pain,or just seeking out my attention, she must need it for a reason.
