Guest guest
Hi everyone. I hope all is well. I just wanted to give you an update on and our plans for treatment. Monday went in for his 3rd cast. It was a good day with great news. 's curve is 13 degrees out of cast and 10 in cast. We were really happy. Some of you know there was a " mix-up " with numbers prior to our appt. Let me say we totally understand things at this point. I totally over react without knowing everything. His doctor talked to us, showed us all Xrays from beginning to now, went over how they measure, discussed his rotation(which he said has improved), etc. This cast is a little different. Much smoother and lighter in weight. And makes him look so small. It is still over the shoulder. Bigger tummy hole, but not mushroom shape. AND green for CHRISTmas. If you haven't already thought it let me clear it up...........yes we are staying at ish Rite. It was not an easy decision, but we feel we are getting good results. His doctor feels 1 or 2 more cast and then we talk about a brace. I will go longer on the casts just to be sure if need be. I want to get excited and did for a short time, but I have my guard up now. You know even though I do not know any of you personally I was nervous to tell you that we have decided to stay where we are. I know so many of you have received excellent treatment at Shriner's and feel they are the best. I can't say they are not. I speak HIGHLY of them when ask about different treatment options out there. You are my support. Sure I have my husband, but it helps so much to talk to other Moms that have babies/children with Infantile Scoliosis. His doctor also said the next cast change we will be able to take him home(about 30 minutes away from hospital)cast free and come back the next day for his 4th cast. You can't imagine how HAPPY I was to hear that........I cried. I have not seen or touched 's back since July. I am not sure why the sudden change in procedures, but we were delighted. He wants to see what his back may or may not do for that short period of time. I do have a concern and think I just saw this recently in a post. 's cast is SO tight. His tummy is so big and stick out of the hole. His other casts have been tight, but not like this. Will it loosen up in a few days? Anyway sorry for making this so long, but thanks for being here for me and . and Claflin-Thank you so much for your calls when I was feeling really confused. Everything you both said was greatly appreciated by both me and my husband. What a wonderful testimony of support. I will continue my plan of presenting him with info on Ms. Mehta. I'll let you all know when and how that goes. I will post pictures soon of . Take care, Tasha/ --------------------------------- Access over 1 million songs - Music Unlimited.
