Guest guest
Hi all ers, Just wondering again if any of you are overly sensative to alot of noise and what this does to your nervous system. I ask this because my day yesterday was totally filled with hundreds of major noises, some just " normal " like a vaccum, dogs barking, etc. It was odd too in the pool because a very splashy lap swimmer made that noise, then all the lawns were being mowed at once, with the leafblowers going. Then the builders nearby were really pounding in the roof nails! My nerves just felt like they were on overload, and I noticed this caused a tremor surge. Fortunately the day ended with a beautiful, quiet romantic dinner, and I was restored to peace, but just wonder if anyone is overly sensitive to noise from ordinary life. (and yes, I do have earplugs - you'd be surprised what I can still hear!) ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Hi Gretchen-I too have a very hard time with noise. It is EXHAUSTING for me and makes me very crabby too. Barb
Guest guest
Well Gretchen, That is a good question. I never imagined having hearing problems might be associated with CMT. Noise just gets to be too much for me sometimes also. But I'm also having a lot of problems hearing. I confronted my MD about seeing a ear, nose and throat specialist and he adviced me to debrox my ears, to get rid of the ear wax, then I should be able to hear better. And to stay away from machinery noise like power saws and such that my husband uses in our Renovation Business that I have helped him on. Well, I done that, went back to him, he checked my ears and seen they were clean (and I haven't worked in the business for over 2 years now). Nothing was mentioned about seeing a specialist. I still have hearing problems. And sometimes my ears hurt so bad, they feel like they are going to bust. Anybody with any other suggestions on treating the ears, I would greatly appreciate it. Guest guest
Gretchen, Sorry it's taken me so long to respond to the posts. I have noticed over the past few months (more like a year I guess) that I cannot tolerate loud noises. Even the tv or radios seem so loud to me that I have to turn them down. Motorcycles, big trucks and even dogs barking seem to drive me crazy. I haven't said anything about it to anyone, it's been something that I say to myself alot. Yes normal sounds do seem really loud to me and I have no idea why. Elaina.
