Hi ,

Tae Bo is now in my library. I got two of his workouts, the 8 minute workout that looks like a good one, and Crunch Tae Boxing. I previewed them both yesterday and the Crunch one is different with the instructional part. The background exercisers are doing the moves before and he doesn't give much instruction. I'm sure they are both good workouts.

I'll email you off list about the beginner kb tape. I agree that punching and kicking is a great way to vent. I can see where a punching bag would come in handy too!

Thanks,

Kerry

Hi Kerry! Tae Bo should be in every home exerciser's library. He has produced a lot, and rule of thumb is, get the older ones at the thrift store on tape. They are tougher, and just better overall. There are also plenty of older Tae Bo Basic workouts that are also good. He is a pioneer in home kb workouts and a staple for many!I have a fun more beginner kb tape I can mail you if you like: It's Kick Butt with Jackie Vankatwyk and Kristoff St. - I accidentally picked up 2 copies and have an extra one. If you're interested, just email me your address offlist Punching and kicking is a GREAT way vent in a healthy way! Hooks!

The Crunch one is VERY Pre-Taebo! When the original boards were set up, the original company made it *clear* that that wasn't an actual Tae Bo workout.

hi kerry.... im sad to say that the crunch workout is not good :(

it was made before billy invented taebo. the production values are

awful and the workout is not much better.

it was billys first video, plus another called 'master blaster'

during which he uses dumbells.

both of these should be avoided.

the 8 minute taebo workout is fine. it moves really fast though so

be careful of that if you havent done much kickboxing.

Ahhh, Ok, thanks for the explanation. I do know that we have some Tae Bo's in the library, so I can take them out when I need to. I'll try the Crunch one if I don't like it back to the thrift store it goes.

Thanks,

Kerry

Thank you for the warning. I could tell right away that the Crunch

one wasn't a Tae bo as soon as I played it. Like I said I can get his

other workouts from the library so I will most likely do an easier one

until I'm good enough to do the 8 minute one. It does move fast.

Thanks,

Kerry

i should add that one thing that is interesting about crunch:tae

boxing is that shellie is in the cast. it is interesting to see

her physical transformation from that first awful video in 1998 to

current taebo workouts. i believe that she had black hair in this

video, just as she did in the original studio taebo workouts in 1999.

Tae Bo has been around since the mid 70s, it wasn't called Tae Bo back then of course, but was putting it together and coming up with a name. Then he opened his gym and eventually figured that people would by the workouts. He worked on selling the idea to people when he finally hooked up with Michele's dad and we all know the rest of that story.

I'll have to watch for her so I can see the transformation. It's so

motivating to see how the background exercisers change.

Thanks,

Kerry

I had no idea! I'll have to look and see when the library tapes were made.

thanks for that information,

Kerry

Yeah, alas I agree with the others; the 8 minute workout is good, but I didn't care for the Crunch tape, though I must stress that this is an exception. I usually LOVE Crunch's videos, no matter what format. Did you want Kick Butt? If so, email me your address offlist and I'll send it to you. Kerry Kramer <kerrykramer@...> wrote: Hi

Thanks , I don't think I've tried many Crunch workouts, I think I did the Joy of Yoga once. Took it out from the library, but I believe that's all we have of their workouts.

Kerry

I sent you a message off list.
