Guest guest
Hello All ers, Today my son went to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebannon, NH. He needed to see a doctor about his protrusion of his breast bone. I was very nervous thought about surgery for my 17 year old. However, this doctor thoroughly discussed the other surgeries that had been done in the past for people with this Pectus Carantium condition. It was awful! So instead this doctor will be putting on a brace for Seth which he needs to wear 12 hours a day! Over time it should help push it in over time. Which is great news for all of us, but especially Seth! So anyone out there with this condition should look into this non-invasive procedure! I just hope this helps CMT people. Now does anyone know if pectus carantium and CMT go hand in hand? Let me know. Thanks so much for sharing and listening. As always this group is supportive and I really enjoy the moderator's feedback and her free information that she provides for us. Especially at no cost to us. Thanks Gretchen!! Thanks so much for sharing and listening. Heidi. My guess is no only because if it is a common thing that is seen with CMT we are looked over for it. Like scolloisis (sp). My kids spines are always checked for that because it is common with CMT. Mine was too when I was a kid. I haven't had a doctor check for pectus carantium. Mom to 5 That makes 10 kids between us. We can never go out to dinner together.
