Guest guest
hi connie, it's good to " hear " from you. i'm glad that billy is doing so well post surgery. i took a peak at the x-rays, and he looks so straight! my son lucas is almost 5 and had worn a tlso awhile back, then in casts, and now a spinecor brace. with a cast, lucas did need help with some things in the bathroom (if you get my drift). thankfully last year, he was going to a private preschool so the teachers were more willing to help him. this year, he is going to a public preschool so they are not allowed to help children in the bathroom. he is in the spinecor now, so he had to " learn " how to do certain things himself. it is taking practice. he wears his underwear over the brace as he did with the cast so that he can pull them up and down. he had to learn how to get his pants over the brace. i highly recommend elastic waistband until billy gets used to it. if you don't mind, i will privately e-mail you one thing since it is a bit more graphic. deshea ---- Original message ---- >Date: Thu, 28 Sep 2006 17:16:12 EDT >From: conni60640@... >Subject: Dealing with young child in TLSO brace... >infantile scoliosis treatment , scoliosis-in-children > > Hi everyone, it's been a while since I posted. Guest guest
I don't know if it will or not. Lacie is a girl and only three (she is potty trained). We try to do elastic pants, and a little larger underwear so that they are easy up and down. Her biggest struggle was getting up and down off the potty. A small step stool has done wonders for her. > > hi connie, > > it's good to " hear " from you. i'm glad that billy is doing so well post surgery. i took a peak at the x-rays, and he looks so straight! > > my son lucas is almost 5 and had worn a tlso awhile back, then in casts, and now a spinecor brace. with a cast, lucas did need help with some things in the bathroom (if you get my drift). thankfully last year, he was going to a private preschool so the teachers were more willing to help him. this year, he is going to a public preschool so they are not allowed to help children in the bathroom. he is in the spinecor now, so he had to " learn " how to do certain things himself. it is taking practice. he wears his underwear over the brace as he did with the cast so that he can pull them up and down. he had to learn how to get his pants over the brace. i highly recommend elastic waistband until billy gets used to it. > > if you don't mind, i will privately e-mail you one thing since it is a bit more graphic. > > deshea > > ---- Original message ---- > >Date: Thu, 28 Sep 2006 17:16:12 EDT > >From: conni60640@... > >Subject: Dealing with young child in TLSO brace... > >infantile scoliosis treatment , scoliosis-in- children > > > > Hi everyone, it's been a while since I posted.
