The staff may not be up to snuff in that store. But the one in our area staff is highly into what and how their products are made. Of course they won't tell me where to get Shea Butter like theirs!!! Also the soaps are divine! I cannot describe their Shea Butter, I have never found any near as smooth and creamy as they have. thanks Cate

Guest guest
The tin of L'Occitane Shea Butter I have is 100% pure Shea butter. No other ingredient is listed. I like the white smooth feel to it. Has anyone worked with it or similiar type butter to mix with your other oils. It feels so precious I don't want to share any out of my tin!!! lol Cate
Guest guest
I was there before Sept. 11, 2001 - things have changed in SoHo They were across the street and just down from the Origin's store. Once you in the Soho neighborhood you can ask any merchant and they will direct you. That's how I found the store. At that time the store staff were knowledgeable and very nice. Guest guest
Cate, Would this company be selling Whipped Shea Butter? I make mine using 75% Shea butter and 25% Liquid Shea melted then whipped using a standard kitchen beater...put into freezer 15 min and whip again and another 15 min in freezer and another whip...I repeat until it is thick and creamy...then I scent it...pour into containers and let it cool...it is totally awesome! Guest guest
In reference to the Shea Butter they sell: the butter in their tins state 100% Shea Butter. It is white, odorless and not grainy at all. Cate

Guest guest
Holly Yes, The best way is to heat up the Liquid Shea and then add the solid Shea Butter...just let the hot Liquid Shea melt the Shea Butter...if it does not melt it all you still do not have to heat up the Shea Butter too much to get it melted. Any nice oil works...one does not have to use just Liquid Shea. The least amount of heating up on the Shea butter is the best, as you don't want a nice non grainy Shea to go grainy on you...However, it does seem that whipping takes out the grainy also. You do know that Shea comes also in a Liquid form...if not, it is just as wonderful as the Shea Butter but just has some of the Stearic acid taken out of it. This is a site that sells Liquid Shea: http://www.todieforsoap.com/servsupply.htm This site talks about the qualities that Liquid Shea has: http://www.todieforsoap.com/info.htm#Liquid%20Shea http://www.todieforsoap.com/info.htm#Liquid%20Shea ----- Original Message ----- >Laurie: Do you melt the Shea butter before adding the 25% melted shea > ???? Guest guest
Laurie: Thanks for the heads up. I have ordered some of the liquit Shea, but I'll remember to Die For. I wonder if you could add just a tad of Emu oil? That stuff is so great. Guest guest
Holly, Emu is great isn't it...give it a try, Maybe would be a good idea to add a little T-50 Vit E in too...I like to do that so the oils don't go rancid on me. My favorite scent to use is Lavender EO because that seems to add in all the good properties that Lavender EO has in it too...Oh, Does this sound HEAVEN!!! Laurie H.
