Guest guest
I didn't have any bad side effects from Cymbalta at all. The only thing that it did for me was give me more energy and take away some of the numbness and pain and it helped with my frame of mind too. I have nothing but good things to say about Cymbalta. Guest guest
Joyce, No, I am not taking Cymbalta. I don't know much about it - lol, haven't even had time to even look over the website for it. It is interesting to me that so many ers are now taking it, so I intend to surf some sites/research to educate myself more. Still learning more everyday. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Here is basic info I found: Cymbalta is an FDA-approved treatment for the management of pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Cymbalta doesn't undo or stop nerve damage, and it can't make diabetes go away. It can help relieve the pain of diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Cymbalta is what is known as a selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SSNRI). It is believed that Cymbalta acts as a pain reducer due to its effect on two naturally occurring chemicals in the central nervous system, serotonin and norepinephrine. Cymbalta may also be prescribed to help relieve the emotional and physical symptoms of depression. Studies show that Cymbalta reduces 24-hour average pain, compared to a placebo (sugar pill). While continuing to research, it mentioned about weight gain. I am always working to keep my weight low and have not experienced any weight gain while on Cymbalta. I have been on it for 4 months. After my body adjusted to the drug, I have had no side affects. I was on Lexapro before and went off for personal reasons. When needing to go back on something for depression, it was recommended to try Cymbalta as it does help with nerve pain. I weigh 110 pounds and have found that the initial dosage of 30 mg has worked fine for me, so I am not increasing to the recommended dosage of 60 mg. I have been pleased with the results and do not intend to stop taking the drug as my perspective on life is very positive since I re-started medication. Obviously, drugs are not for everyone, but anyone that experiences prolonged " blues " should look into all possibilities, because it is amazing how good feeling good is! Guest guest
Hi Joyce, It was horrible. I had been on Wellbutrin for years and was switched to the Lexapro, then 3 weeks into taking it, I went to work one day and couldn't face people, started crying, and just wanted to crawl in a hole. I had to leave work and put 2 and 2 together, never took another one, and am fine now. It started making me not being able to talk to people and scared being in public. I'm not like that at all. Then again, I spoke to a friend of mine yesterday, who just started it and loves it. It just didn't work for me. Now I'm going to try the Cymbalta. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I started on cymbalta just this week. My doctor said a side effect is weight loss for many people. I think I'm going to like it better than others I have tried. I don't feel foggy headed on the cymbalta. --- txscooterlady <txscooterlady@...> wrote: > I have been on Cymbalta now for two weeks and have > another free sample > week remaining.
