Greg , MD and CMT expert explained that this is so we don't put added stress on joints and that we stay as thin as possible. I don't know if you are referring to " thinness " like that or in relation to muscle atropy. Muscles in CMT are known to atropy, causing a thin appearance, especially in the legs. I live in a place where " the cult of thinness " is IN - I am certainly NOT thin like a model, however, my body fat is relatively low. As for my muscles, well, the muscle I have built up actually weighs more than fat.
