Guest guest
Hello, My name is and my daughter Rylie is 11 months old and just diagnosed with infantile scoliosis. Per 's reccomendation I just read Dr. Mehta's article in the Journal of bone & joint surgery. I was trying to classify which phenotype my daughter is. She seems to be a combination of the Sturdy and Slender. I feel she difinately has good muscle tone and is well built, however she does have a strabismus. Is it possible to be a combination? I wish I would have read this article months ago. I feel like we have wasted sooo much time. We have been taking our daughter to an eye specialist at childrens hospital since she was 5 months old for her restricted muscle in her left eye when looking up. It took them until last month to rule out anything to do with her spine, however reading this article it was right there connecting the strabismus to the scoliosis in the Slender phenotype. I hope this doesn't mean we are to late to try and correct her scoliosis. --------------------------------- Don't pick lemons. See all the new 2007 cars at Autos. Guest guest
I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know that you are not to late to correct her--you are very on the ball as she is very young! Don't beat yourself up you are doing everything right! Guest guest
Hi , You are not too late in getting it corrected. She is a great age to get started. Of course, the sooner the better, but at 11 months she should do great in a cast as far as correction. Any word from Shriner's? Are you going? Have a good one. /Cole kelly shearer <kellyshearer77@...> wrote: Hello, My name is and my daughter Rylie is 11 months old and just diagnosed with infantile scoliosis. Guest guest
Hey , I did hear from shriners. Rylie is scheduled for March 7th to see Dr. Khouray and the following day to be casted. We are so grateful to have found the ISOP and all of you. It definately helped us make our decision to go ahead with the casting without any hesitation!!!! I did ask to be put on a cancellation list, which I'm sure so does everyone else. We will keep our fingers crossed. Thanks again! I will keep you posted. --------------------------------- Access over 1 million songs - Music Unlimited.
Guest guest
That is awesome! I know March seems a little long and you are anxious to get started, but it is realy only 1 1/2 months away. I say, enoy the cast free hugs and snuggles, and of course the baths. She'll do great in the cast and your little Rylie will be straight soon! Best of luck. kelly shearer <kellyshearer77@...> wrote: Hey , I did hear from shriners. Rylie is scheduled for March 7th to see Dr. Khouray and the following day to be casted. Guest guest
We will definitely cross paths then. You actually aren't too far from me. We travel from Richmond, VA. I may be coming by myself this time and if so, I will definitely be doing an overnighter. I usually stay at the Residence Inn, but have done the parent housing as well. The housing is nice when you have to be there at 6 am! My email addy is noellesmommy@.... When it gets closer to the date, I will send you my cell phone number. Of course, feel free to email me any time if you just want to chat! Noelle (12-2-01) Ian (8-15-04) Re: Dr. Mehta's article Hey , I did hear from shriners.
