I'm pretty dang proud of myself for getting up at 4:30 a.m. for the third day in a row to do yoga! This morning was the intermediat Core practice from Yoga Complete for Weight Loss. This was a good one - one of those workouts that if you were just looking on would think, "Gosh, that looks easy" when in fact these slow and controlled movements are very hard! I was able to do all of the poses in the advanced options except for chatarunga of all things. I can do a chatarunga while doing a sun salutation, legs off the floor and everything, but that's because you have some momentum getting you there. For this exercise you start in a prone position, then you have to use your triceps and core to get you to a "hovering" chatarunga - a completely different scenario. I simply weigh too much right now to push all my weight up from scratch like that so I went into cobra. She did show a modificaiton with blocks, but I only have one block,

which I got for around $3 on a closeout sale at the gym with my employee discount. I was at Whole Foods yesterday and the same Gaiam foam block was $8.49! Sheesh! This was a wonderful practice, and I look forward to finishing up with the practices in the intermediate series and moving on to the challenging series. This will take some time. Between the 3 dvd's in this set there are over 100 routines! Yay! I plan on sticking with yoga for a good solid month to regain my strength and to lighten my spirit. Last night I did Aqua Aerobics at the gym - always a super fun class! I haven't been drinking much, only 2 beers since last Thursday, and that's good for me. I won't drink tonite, but on Friday I have a blind date and I think 2-3 glasses of red wine will be in order.I get home late tonite, around 10:00, so I don't know if I'll be able to get up and do yoga, but I would like to.

I hope everyone has a great day of health and vitality!laura
