Guest guest
I am responding to a thread about genetic testing on embryos. I appreciate that this is a difficult and touchy subject. Here is more information for those who may be interested. Athena Diagnosistics in the US will test for Type 1A (not sure about the other types) on a chorionic villius sampling (CVS) which can be done between 10-12 weeks gestation. The results take about 5 weeks (2 weeks for your home lab to grow the cells and 2-3 weeks for Athena to run the DNA). The # for Athena is 1-800-394-4493. Libby is a genetics counselor there who is quite informative on the process, extension 3108. Reproductive Genetics Institute (RGI) in Chicago will also do preimplantation genetic diagnosis for couples who are interested in in vitro fertilization. Their phone # is 773-871-5221 and web site http://www.reproductivegenetics.com/.
Guest guest
Can anyone tell me what this might cost? Has it be written anywhere? I am thinking about future Grand children that won't need to have CMT. <In a message dated 9/12/2005 8:59:59 A.M.
