Guest guest
Hi Lil, wow I " know " someone who is married to someone with OCD who has had quite a stellar and successful career, and who works for someone famous with a child with OCD! Very small world :-) I'm a little late but I also wanted to let you know how moved I was reading the post of your growing up years. My main hope for Kellen is that she can move beyond whatever obstacles OCD puts in her path, and turn negatives into positives and determination to succeed as you have. In another post you mentioned that despite your problems, you mother told you she knew you were smart, no matter what anyone else said. I also tell Kellen this, because it's true and because I've realized that some personality bents, some behaviors and some learning styles don't play well in grade school, however can be great plusses later on in " real life. " I hope your husband can be the impetus for a TV special about OCD. If this disorder can become as well known, accepted and understood by the average person as ADHD has, our childrens' lives will be that much easier.
