Guest guest
Hi Gretchen, I have participated in Voc Rehab and it was positive. I had already found a job working at home with NTI, a telecommunications based company that places jobs for individuals with disabilities. They had me contact a Voc Rehab counselor in order to obtain training funds. The Ticket to Work program was involved in this. The Rehab counselor was given the ticket. I collect SSDI and work part-time, which works well for me with my CMT issues.
Guest guest
Gretchen, Hey, I live in Mobile Alabama. I went thru college on a grant from Vocational rehab...I have never been on any type of disibility or anything, so I may not really contribute to ur question, but while i am very very appreciative to have my college education paid for, I was very disapointed in their " job finding " skills. Before I went to college, I went thru voc rehabs assessement program and they were supposed to help me find a job....They never even got me an interview. After receiving my degree, Voc rehab was supposed to try and help find me interviews to go to...Once again, nothing. I have a friend here in Mobile that went thru the same situation, and they never got an interview for him either. I might add that voc rehab couldnt find 1 interview in approximately 2 yrs of looking. After a year of beating the streets, for the second time, I finally found a job in my field. This was due only to my hard work. Jimmy
