Guest guest
Debbie, I have to admit my limited ideas for a CMT specialist in Vancouver. However, if you and your son are willing to travel to the U of Washington, I highly recommend Greg , MD and also Phil Chance, MD. There is also Dr. Bird, who is also on the genetics staff. I am not sure how patients are seen but here's some contact info: Address for Dr. University of Washington Department of Rehabilitation Medicine 1959 NE Pacific Street Box 356490 Seattle, WA 98195-6490 206-598-4590 Address for Dr. Chance Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics Chief of Division of Genetics & Development University of Washington RR-247 Health Sciences Building Pediatrics, Box 356320 Phone: 206-616-3787, 206-526-2058 FAX: 206-543-3184 Dr. teaches and researches too and Phil Chance is a well known geneticist, so is Dr. Bird. All 3 are what I would call " CMT Experts " and if for some reason I couldn't find doctors in California, I'd be on the next plane to Seattle. (Have never met any of them, but all are widely published and have been said to have an excellent rapport with CMT persons) Perhaps they might even know of MD's in Vancouver who might be more helpful for your son. I applaud your son's desire to more fully understand his CMT. Most definitely a good sign. Hope this helps. ~ Gretchen
