I'm crushed! I just read this in my local newspaper today, and all I can say,

is " Say it Ain't So! Don't Mess with Winnie! "

A pediatric research team says A.A. Milne's characters in the " Winnie the

Pooh " stories are psychological messes. Writing in the Canadian Medical

Association Journal, team leader Shea says Pooh himself is

obsessive-compulsive and suffers from attention deficit disorder; Eeyore is

depressed; Piglet is in need of anti-panic drugs; and Robin is

haunted by unresolved gender issues. " Sadly, " the team notes, " the forest is

not, in fact a place of enchantment but rather one of disenchantment where

neurodevelopmetal and psychosocial problems go unrecognized and untreated. "
