physical effects of Cannabis on my CMT

Well, first I was hooked on liquor, then I was hooked on Cannabis. I

needed more of both to help me walk/balance, have conversations, study,

to stop my tremors, to help me deal with emotions like anger and

frustration, not to mention to 'un-depress' me. At first cannabis

slowed down my already speeded up nervous system. But with more and

more use, it just increased it. I slept even less, even though I needed

to sleep more. At first muscle spasms decreased, but not for long. They

only got worse and increased. I also added a pill habit to this mix,

meaning pills that were not prescribed for me. Talk about The Gateway!

I smoked Cannabis, I also ate it in some food. The only energy I had

was to go out and get more. Talk about being a stoned pony!

Then Cannabis also stopped my appetite - I know this is strange, but I

never ate, and was severely underweight, had hallucinations and ended

up hospitalized where one of the problems was my electrolyte levels

were out of whack. I had open sores on my feet because I never cared for my feet

like I do now. I had to resign from my job because I was such a loaded,

generally sick wreck. All this took place in th 1970's, FYI.

All I can say is thank God for the 12 steps and my life clean and

sober, TODAY!
