Guest guest
Bridgette, So sorry to hear bad news about 's curve. Hopefully this night brace will take care of things. When was her final cast removed and how long did she wear a brace afterwards? I diligently check Madison's back everynight when I am bathing her for just this reason. Your instinct is always going to be right. You know her better than anyone of course. I know it's hard, but try no to worry. You are an outstanding mommy for and always looking out for her. You are nipping it in the bud hopefully. Dr. S is going to take great care of her. I will keep you guys in my thoughts, please keep us posted. Guest guest
Hi Bridget, I know how frustrated you must be feeling and am sorry for the bad news. It is good that they caught it now and hopefully a brace will do the trick. I too worry about the growth period times out of cast/brace. Of course Cole is still in a cast, but I am always thinking of his future. What was brooks curve when you stopped casting? What was brooks curve when you stopped bracing? How old was she when she was done with bracing. I know you have shared this info. in the past, but it's hard to keep up with everyone's info. Sorry. Good luck to in her brace, and let us know what the geneticist says when you get in. /Cole murphybridgette <mike-bridgette@...> wrote: Hi everyone, We got bad news was seen by 4 doctors today. Guest guest
Hi Bridgette Bummer about s curve being on the move but it's great that it is only 20 and still flexible. The night brace should work well hopefully. does still do physio? great that you picked upp on it so quickly. It just shows that the mum usually knows. I hope you are doing well and that all your family are healthy. We have some lovely pphotos of Bridget and in the playground at Shriners together last May. They had a great time. Guest guest
Hi Briggette Sorry to hear that the news on is worrying - I knew too when Siobhan's back had gotten worse - Mother's instinct! We'll hope that the night-time brace works - If not, would it be worth looking into the SpineCor? Take care. Jacki > > Hi everyone, > > > We got bad news was seen by 4 doctors today. Guest guest
hi bridgette, as everyone has already said, i too am sad to hear the brooke has progressed. i guess mother's instinct is a force to be reckoned with and you have proven that on multiple occasions! a couple of questions: by a night brace -- do you mean a charleston/bending brace to overcorrect the curve or a tlso type that will only be worn at night? is she a c curve now or still an s? as for the geneticist, is dr. sanders thinking some type of connective tissue disorder like ehlers danlos or marfans? i wonder what type of testing they will recommend. did she ever have an echo? when were you able to make the appt for? i also have to ask as did jacki -- what about a spinecor? i know that she was fitted for it last november, but it didn't work out. i'm not sure why. anyway, i don't want to pressure you or anything, but just want to put that in the back of your mind if dr. sanders thinks that at least part-time bracing might be a longer term thing. but on the positive side -- if brooke's curve can stay at or below 20o through the juvenile growth spurt, then she has a good chance of avoiding any type of surgery once she hits puberty. i forget which paper that is, but i can get it if you are interested. my thoughts are with you, bridgette. if you ever need to talk, please e-mail or call. my best, deshea On Oct 13, 2006, at 2:40 AM, murphybridgette wrote: > Hi everyone, > > We got bad news was seen by 4 doctors today. Guest guest
-Hi Deshea, I believe it is a charleston Brace they said that it would over correct it. The spinecor did'nt work for her because it made her curve worse. The geneticist they want her to see has a waiting list. so not sure when we will get in.they asked if she ever had any skin taken and tested I said no just blood work and exam. When we seen the other geneticist when was 18 months old they were thinking she might have ehlers danlos thats why they wanted to she her back when she was 4-5 years old to see if she was still flexiable. She also had an echo done when she was 18 months old at that time she had an heart mermmer and the lady that was doing the echo that she seen somthing but then could see it anymore. They also wanted to see her back when she got older.I had told myself it had prgoressed I was going to make another apt. for them both I still going to try to get her into our geneticist also. thanks everyone for thinking of .
