Guest guest
Thanks everyone who sent me advice on anaesthesia. I had a good experience, helped along by how cute the anaesthetist was I am sure! The start of minor surgery was a bit weird, as the doctors confessed they had only heard of CMT in medical school. They then asked a lot of questions, and consulted another anaesthetist (the one originally scheduled for me but my procedure was rescheduled due to 7 July events) and then seemed to have everything under control. They seemed more concerned that I fly long haul regularly (almost once every two weeks) and more worried about deep vein thrombosis than my CMT. So off I went to surgery, wearing TED stockings (compression socks) which they have as standard for all patients in general anaesthesia, and I woke up with a warm blanket under my legs with warm feet too! And I have absolutely no pain today, just a little woozy which I can never tell if that would be from general tiredness or surgery. Thanks again everyone!
