Guest guest
Yes - I am really feeling the work. My cat kept me company at the end of my mat. Just out of kicking range! kathy -------------- Original message -------------- From: fitgrl222@... In a message dated 10/24/2006 5:48:30 A.M. Great workout!!!!! well, it sounds like you ended up getting a good workout in even though you couldn't do it in your usual place in the house. Guest guest
Nice workout Kathy, you are lucky to have three "workout" areas then you can get something done no matter what. Yoga is a good workout, isn't it? Kerry Kathy wrote: I was going to do strength/weight training, but life got in the way this morning. Specifically my DH slept in this morning so I couldn't use our DVD player in our bedroom and DS#1 decided to sleep down (we have a bi-level) in the Family Room during the night where I do 90% of my workouts. So it had to be a VHS workout in the living room. I really didn't want to lug up my weighs, step etc from downstairs so I pulled out Yoga Fusion Power with Teigh McDonough of Yoga Booty Ballet fame. I keep forgetting what a nice workout this is. It starts with yoga and other forms of eastern exercise for warm up and then goes into classic yoga poses such as Chair, Down Dog, Up Dog, Triangle, Right Angle, Warrior 2, etc. They are done slowly first and then more rapidly to bring up the heart rate. She then goes down to the mat for a nice long Pilates series of abdominal work followed by side lying leg work. She finishes with yoga stretches. I definitely feel worked out and stretched at the same time. Kathy

Guest guest
Yes - I am lucky to have several areas. Both of my kids have lap tops so that was another alternative if I really wanted to do a DVD workout. Yoga is a great workout. I should do it more often! Guest guest
I also have a couple of areas, I could count three, but one of them is so crowded I wouldn't be able to move. I can use the upstairs living room, but don't like to do that. Luckily I have all my stuff in the lower level of our four level split, so my workout room is out of the way, no door so I can close it if we had company though. I took out four workouts from the library, Kathy 's Timesaver Cardio Fat Burner, Living Arts, Balance Ball Lower body workout with Deason, Shaping up for Dummies, and Fat Burning for Dummies. All this and my book on knee pain was in as well, so I have lots of reading and workouts to keep me busy this week. I plan on doing Kathy 's workout tomorrow, or if I don't feel like it I'll do the Balance Ball workout. I'd do it tonight, but I have already made other plans. Have a great day, Kerry Kathy wrote: Yes - I am lucky to have several areas. Both of my kids have lap tops so that was another alternative if I really wanted to do a DVD workout. Guest guest
Enjoy your new workouts from the library! I have the Timesaver Cardio and it is good, although Kathy acts as if she's had four pots of coffee! I had and maybe I still do ahve the Balance Ball workout, I liked that one, too. I like Suzanne Deason. Let us know what you think and enjoy your reading! Guest guest
Animals are funny, aren't they. Was your cat around dogs when he was young? Guest guest
Yes he was. I got Frack and his brother Frick as rescue kittens. A farmer had them in a burlap sack to drown them - nice right? I had two one year old mutts at home when they came to live with us. Two years later another kitten was dumped on us by it's stray mom. The cats and dogs always slept and hung out together. Frack is the only animal still left from that group since that was almost 17 years ago and he just loves dogs. We have a boxer Molly who is around 9 and when we took her in Frack was so happy to have another dog. --Kathy Calvin: I'm a genius, but I'm a misunderstood genius. Guest guest
Hi Donna, I see what you mean when you say Kathy acts like she's had four pots of coffee. Wow! Talk about energetic. Anyway, I got through a full 8 minutes of this workout and had to stop, due to my stupid knee. I switched to the Balance Ball workout, I liked this one as well, she does some different moves which I liked. I found this workout more relaxing than the other ball workouts I've done. I couldn't kneel on my right knee when in the triangle pose when you have the ball under your arm and doing the leg work. I grabbed a folded flannel sheet, but that wasn't soft enough to cushion the knee. I'll have to find a cushier blanket. Can you do the move on The Balance Ball workout where you are sitting on the ball with your arms up in the air and then you lift your knee then straighten it? That is a tough move, I had to hold onto the ball for this one and I didn't fully straighten my legs. I was pretty wobbly even though I had the ball on my yoga mat. I am enjoying reading the knee book. I'm finding out what my knee pain isn't. It's hard to come up with something as I have some symptoms for some things, but not the other symptom that commonly go along with it like redness or swelling. I'll be heading out to get some Osteo BiFlex in the next couple of days to see if that will help me like it did for . If that doesn't do the trick I'll make a Dr. appointment. Thanks, Kerry It's a real bummer not being able to workout like I'm used to, any suggestions on what I could do to keep my fitness level and still take it easy on my knee? Guest guest
Oh, I hate hearing about things like that. I'm so glad you were able to rescue them. It's so funny to hear how Frack is so attached to dogs. Kerry Kathy wrote: Yes he was. I got Frack and his brother Frick as rescue kittens.
