Would regular exercises such as deadlifts or incline shrugs serve just as well? I believe I have even seen bent DB laterals recommended. Thanks. The L fyes are are for rehab purposes because there's not enough tension to develop strength. The lying one-arm lateral raise is a much better alternative as well. You can also do the latter exercise while sitting on a bench with your working arm on the leg of the same side. The leg is bent at approximately 90 degrees with the foot on the bench.
