I have a friend on a quilting list who has one of these vibrating

platforms and she says it's the newest craze. Apparently it gives

you quicker results in whatever you are working on, strength,

flexibility etc. I had no idea such a thing existed.

Hi Carolyn,

I would also love to try one out just to see how it works. You could

be right, it could become a common piece of exercise equipment some

day, especially if it works.

Hey, hey! I just got a Soloflex WBV. I had been looking at Power Plates, but

the price is out of sight. I sold a banjo and got a deposit on my autoharp

and decided to go for the Soloflex after I saw an ad in Reader's Digest and

read more at www.soloflex.com. It comes with a neat DVD of free weight

exercises, yoga and pilates to do on the Soloflex board and there is also a

nice picture booklet the same as shown on the website.

Vicky volunteered to try it and just loves it. She does some stretching

stuff and I do that and some free weight moves. This is the first exercise

video, gizmo or anything that she has shown an interest in since the

Gazelle, which she has used faithfully for a couple years. Tony Little is

now in the front bedroom/office and the WBV is front and center in the

living area so we have access without any setup.

The first night we used it, we both slept great. We took it camping this

weekend and used it on the ground, plugged in of course, slept better than

usual while camping. The grandkids came down and tried it out. They had a

blast.

Then today, I picked up 5 more exercise videos at a garage sale. One day

I'll have to get rid of them but I think the WBV is here for a while.

A great nights sleep sounds wonderful! Maybe I'll have to get my DH

to buy one then he can throw out the awful smelling pills he takes to

help him sleep. Did you use it just before bed to get a good nights

sleep?

Thanks for letting us know how much you like your Soloflex WBV.

WBV

We are doing A.M.-P.M. time slots and they only recommend 10 minutes a day

up to 30 minutes. So I guess we are doing 15-20 for the day and I can get on

the board most anytime during the day that I feel the urge. It is relaxing

as well as strengthening. It may strengthen bones, but how would we ever

know for sure.

Vicky is doing Pilate moves and I do tucks and curls with weights and a slow

twist with a long bar across my shoulders. After watching Dr. Phil on tape

when Vicky gets home, we need to do something relaxing and this is it. The

tucks are from Turbo Jam and the weight stuff is basic but inspired partly

by the Basedow video. We both lay on our back and pedal the bicycle

as an ab tightener. The board is 40 " long by 10 " wide by 5 " high. Just right

for steps, which I haven't gotten into the rhythm to do.

These old videos I've picked up don't play very good on my cheap video

player without tracking adjustments. Maybe I'll have to pop for a DVD on a

step routine.

I saw Slender Shaper on TV Shopping this morning, it's on the same

principle as the Soloflex, that all the vibrating will, quote: " do

your workout for you. " This product isn't a plate though, it's like a

belt to wear. My guess is that this is the portable version.

That would be great if there were some bone strengthening benefits.

Great that it's relaxing. Maybe you could just do basic step ups onto

the bench. Sorry to hear your videos don't work very well. The DVD

players are very nice, I recently got one and I really like it.

Interesting. I tried to look it up to see what it was and could only

find clothing and a video. It would make sense that they'd come up

with a portable version.

Hi, the Soloflex can be found at www.soloflex.com You should see a girl

laying on the floor with her calves on the WBV. Down in the lower right of

the picture, you can click on WBV User Guide and you should see a twelve

page brochure on it's use. Interesting.

I couldn't find anything but salve for Slender Shaper. There is a belt ad on

tv that uses electrical shocks pulsating to cause the muscles of the abs to

contract and release and therefore exercise. Don't know the name of it. It

sounds painful to me. I have visions of being Tasered.

We worked on Turbo Jam yesterday trying to get legs and arms to cooperate

and coordinate. Not there yet, but did get warmed up. That was after 40

minutes in the gym.

The TJ ads I saw yesterday had " NEW " splashed on a corner of the picture, so

maybe the new TJ is available. I think there are slight changes in the ad

also.

Keep pumping!

Hi,

Yes I did see the user guide, I thought it was quite interesting how

you could do so much on it, from weights to yoga and pilates. The

Slender Shaper belt sounds scary, I don't think I'd like to be

shocked! I'd much rather do it the old fashioned way.

New workouts are always something to get excited about!

Keep up the great work, enjoy the WBV and the new TJ's if you get

them.
