My heart truly goes out to all the people who have been affected by

Hurricane Katrina. I thought we had it bad last yr in Florida. The devastation

and no

power we had was nothing compared to what those people are going to suffer.

Mother Nature truly is a beast at times.

Another reason I'm glad we moved to Kansas. And yes, I know Kansas gets

tornados.

I appreciate the moment of silence. Our son lives in Hammond, Louisiana with his

family. We haven't heard a word from them since Sunday. The storm wasn't as

direct hit but from the news we know they are without power and phones and there

is plenty of damage there too. Our son's birthday was Monday - just in time for

Katrina.

Our son got word out to our daughter via a friend. They are okay, no phone and

no electricity but they are safe and no real damage to their home. Hammond is

45 miles north of New Orleans. Thanks for the prayers.
