Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Is it possible to catch a cold/virus from someone on the internet? LOL! I think I caught 's cold - last night I was all stuffy and my throat is sore - I'm taking airborne and zicam and hoping that nips it in the bud before it gets worse. I almost stayed in bed this morning, but once I got up and moving around I felt okay so I went with RTTC. This is the hardest Ripped workout so far - at least for me. It is all compound exercises which are always killers for me. Warning: there is NO warm-up on this DVD it goes straight into the side squat with a rear lunge combo! So, if you don't like doing that do a warm-up on your own first! There are 9 exercises, I believe, each compounded, I'll try to see if I can remember them and the weights I used (I didn't have my notebook handy, but I went with 3's, 5's and 8's): Side Squat/Rear Lunge - I started with 8's and dropped to 5's when it seemed to be going on forever. I also felt that I had a greater range of motion with the 5's and often times with just body weight so I get more sore with no weights sometimes. Chest Press/w/ hip raise - Not bad after the squats/lunges - I stuck with 8's as I've been getting a good burn in my chest with 8's - again I think it is the range of motion Spiders and Push-up - body weight. I did okay on the spiders, but they pre-fatigued my arms so I did the push-ups on my knees Plie Squats w/ Upright rows - think I went with 5's here b/c my shoulders are kinda week. Bent Knee Deadlifts w/ rows - Used 8's here Straight leg deadlifts w/ biceps - 5's Side Squats off the step w/ lateral raises and a knee up thrown in for good measure - I started w/ 5's then dropped to 3's my shoulders are weak! I was very anaerobic doing this one - it was almost like an interval! Step ups onto the step w/ overhead press - I think I used 5's for this - but maybe 8's - it wasn't as scary as the side squats. Then, she does a front raise with a squat at the end of this series Triceps - tricep push-ups (one modifier uses weights for a french press - I did one set of each for variety) then a tricep kick back on all 4's w/ opposite leg from arm extended - extended arm doing tricep kick backs. I liked this! I used 10's for the French Press (actually 2 5's) and 3's for the kickbacks. My triceps are talkin' to me. Abs/Back - some planks and crunches - nothing new here althoug some of the plank variations were difficult and something to work towards. I'm not sure if this is the exact order, but it is close! Definately a burner! Last night I did manage to get a second light cardio workout in - I did the 20 minute bonus from the Shape Toning DVD - it is very much a mini Prevention's Walk Your Way Slim - short combos w/ different intensity options shown. I liked it! I followed up with the 20 minute pilates/yoga section of the Shape Cardio DVD. Also good, but not as relaxing as I hoped. Hope everyone has a good day! I hope to keep fighting off this cold/virus thing. I feel all hot and sweaty now and not in a good " just worked out " way....hmm.. need more airborne! Take care!
