Guest guest
Jake's next appointment is this Friday in Erie. He's been in his brace for 3 months already! I cannot believe it. I do think he may need a new one as I have to tuck his skin in in the back of the brace when tightened it. He also complains that his " tummy hurts " almost every day because it is so tight down there. Kind of off topic - but not too much -- Jake had a hernia repair last Thursday, and we had to leave his brace off for the day. We put it back on Friday a.m., and a few hours later the incision was bright red and he was swollen beyond the norm. The brace was rubbing too close to the site, so I made the decision to keep it off for a few days to allow him to heal without further aggravating it. By the time we go to Erie, Jake will have had his brace off for one week. His back looks good to me, but as we all know the proof is in the x-ray. Kind of nervous but hoping/praying for the best. I'll update you all on his progress when we return. Have a good week, & Jake --------------------------------- Get your email and more, right on the new .com
Guest guest
jennifer, i will be thinking good thoughts for you guys this friday. it does sound like " little " jake (trying to be funny here since i think he is as big as lucas) will need a new brace. as for the hernia repair and incision site getting red, i'm positive that you made the right decision in leaving the brace off. it is important to make sure that it heals properly. deshea ---- Original message ---- >Date: Mon, 4 Sep 2006 20:54:38 -0700 (PDT) >From: Viveiros <jviv314@...> >Subject: next Erie appt >infantile scoliosis treatment > > Jake's next appointment is this Friday in Erie. Guest guest
Liz, Thank you for asking. Jake's appt went better than we hoped. His x-ray showed his back is currently straight after 3 casts and 3 months in a brace. Our doc sent us home without a new brace. It has been 2 months, and his back still looks amazing! We are all enjoying the close tight hugs and are thankful every day. Hope you are well. & Jake liz <piglet28266@...> wrote: HI Just wondered how Erie is now. I look forward to an update.
