Guest guest
Hi , Rain always gets me down, too. I can handle a day or two, but if it goes much longer I tend to lose all my energy! I really belong in the southwest! Good going for you and your BF! I hope he sticks with it. My DH really needs to do something - he is in about the same shape as your BF. He says he has " no time " to exercise, but he does have time to watch TV, play on the computer, etc. I try not to judge, I know not everyone loves working out - but it is so important for his health and energy levels - he even comments about how awful he feels - tired all the time, etc.. Granted, he does have a demanding job and a demanding commute, but being fit would certainly make some of this stuff a tiny bit easier! His eating is fairly healthy, well, probably about 50/50 since on the weekends he tends to think he can eat whatever he wants, but the portions tend to be large and in general, I think he (and his family) are just cursed with sluggish metabolisms - so they just tend to gain easily. His sister developed Type 2 diabetes already and she is my age (38)! I hope my DD takes after me a bit more in this area - I don't want to see her struggle so much with her weight and all the health issues that come with it - so far she seems to have my body type - she is consistently 75% for height and between 30-50% for weight. I'm fairly lucky with my body type - I can overindulge but quickly trim down if I'm " good " for a few days. I'm sure it is a combo of both genetics and exercise. Still, I would like to do better with my eating for my overall health (not to mention not loving the pudgey feeling I get when I do over do it!) Most of my eating issues are stress (I tend to use food to " relax " or as a " reward " for dealing with something tough) and lack of time (I'm not a great cook or great at figuring out quick/healthy meals) so I tend to grab " whatever " if I'm starving and haven't had time to think it through. I try to plan, but sometimes the plan falls apart. Anyway, sorry to ramble! I do hope your BF sticks with it. I thought about getting htat program for my DH, but I don't want to unless he is really going to use it! He has really poor flexibility, too. Hang in there! Hope you see some sun soon, Donna --- Sprague <kittyn@...> wrote: > I’ve been so tired lately, I’ve been just getting > through my weight training > and going to bed after that.
