Guest guest
WOW what a week it has been. We went on Monday for 's first cast and it went much better than we expected. We are going to ish Rite Children's Hospital in Dallas for those of you that do not know. Shellie, for your " own musing " I guess we will be a case study for the group because ish Rite does not use " Ms. Mehta's techniques " . They told me they do some things she has taught. So I guess we will all see how does. We are happy at ish RIte and hope and pray for GREAT results. Of course if that does not happen we will not hesitate to seek other options. I have so many questions for everyone, but first things first. Before cast 35 degrees.....with cast 15!!! We were very excited about that. His first day was awful because he caught a viral infection that twin brother had on Sunday, BUT we got him in the cast. That was our biggest concern him getting sick before and delaying the cast. So the day after his cast was put on he was running 104.6 fever. It quickly dropped by Tuesday evening so Wednesday was like his first day to feel like doing anything. OK here come the questions. How long does it take them before they can sit up, crawl, move around somewhat normal? He feels the best when he is walking. And has no problem with that. I am following him constantly because he does fall from time to time and can't figure out how to get up. It seems like the cast is not bothering him. It is just when he tries to do something that he would normally do and he can't. We thought the cast was too low, but his doctor took another look at it and said that it would loosen up and he would be able to move better when it did get loose. Its just the part right below his tummy. Below where the cut out is. We try to work with him and make him sit up, but he gets so upset. I am sure it feels so strange to him. I can't imagine. Is it easier for them on the second cast? Diapering is so much fun, LOL, but I think I have a pretty good system going thanks to . I see a lot of you talking about the cast coming off the day before you get the next one. Is that an option your doctor gives you? Just curious. Mom's with twins-how on earth do you do it? I feel like I am giving all my time to and his twin brother, , is getting left out. knows something is different and of course sees the cast. He just cries for me to hold him and I am usually helping . Anyway his next cast will be at the end of September and I will keep you all posted. I am sure I will have more questions as the weeks go by. Tasha and --------------------------------- Talk is cheap. Use Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. Great rates starting at 1¢/min.
