So we took Cole back to Erie today because his cast had broke. And

come to find out, it was actually broken in 2 spots. Dr. Kishan had

been putting on really thin fiberglass casts on Cole, but that all

started before Cole was walking and now rough housing with his brother

and sister. So at the end of Cole's last cast, he had just learned to

walk, and since has been a crazy man. Dr. Kishan says it was his fault

for not taking that into account, and making this cast a little

thicking and hence a little more durable. So he cut it off. We are

leaving on a vacation in 2 weeks, which Cole was scheduled to have his

cast of during that time. Dr. Kishan said it's not worth it to put a

new cast on for two weeks, so what has stated out as 1 1/2 weeks cast

free has turned into 5 weeks! He is not scheduled until Aug 31 for

cast #6. I am so scared to loose ground now, but Dr. Kishan says even

if he loses a degree or two, Cole has become flexable enough (he

started out very rigid)that we'll be able to gain it back. I guess

I'll just trust him, but I'm scared.

I know a few of you have had casts off for 1+ months for various

reasons, sicknesses, surgeries, etc. What was the results or damage if

any? How long did Lexi go before she got her brace when her cast was

taken off, Tracey? What do you all think about this? I told the Dr. I

was even willing to cancel our vacation, but he said NO WAY. His out

of casts numbers had been consistantly in the teens, so this will be

very interesting. I'm expecting his next out of casts xray to show

20+, so I won't be too disappointed.

I'm soooooooooo bummed!

Sorry for babbling.

/Cole
