Guest guest
Hello everyone, my name is (or Branz or -chan) and this is my first time in a support group. At 26, I am a homemaker and student studying to become a Medical Lab Technician. I was not diagnosed until I was sixteen and suffering from CMV (like MONO), they just stumbled upon the CMT while looking for what was draining me of energy. I had always had symptoms, but no one ever thought of CMT, not even the neurologist I visited as a child. Everyone told me I wasn't trying hard enough, wasn't working to get " fit. " No wonder I have Depression and self-esteem issues! My CMT has not been that bad until the last year or two, when I have begun really feeling disabled. I go to the MDA clinic once a year, and last year they said I should get AFOs, see a podiatrist, probably work with a physical therapist, etc. However, I have no insurance, live off my husband's income, am paying for college, and am not sure I will be hired/employed when I get my degree. There is no way to pay for this stuff. I thought maybe you all would have some ideas, as well as just help me deal with things, like finances, my upcoming LEEP procedure for cervical dysplasia (another thing we can't afford), and weight gain, which I have a problem with.
