Guest guest
Hello, My name is Groeneveld, living in Florida. My story is probably like most CMT stories, beginning in childhood, wondering why or what made you " different " . In my teens I underwent 3 surgeries on my feet, now my left foot is flat and my right is high arch. At age 21 I went to neurologist who diagnosed CMT. Gradually and slowly it worsens with each year, moreso in the last few. I am 56 years old, have tried part time work but it causes major fatigue. I wear braces on both feet which help tremendously with balance and walking. Hand tremor also is annoying. I also have high cholesterol and find that the drugs with statins react to my muscles, so I'm trying different medications for that. Living with CMT is difficult, frustrating , I myself want to do things but don't have the energy necessary to accomplish it. I swim in my friends pool which is relaxing & beneficial. Thank goodness for family and friends who care & love. Groeneveld
