48 hrs. show helped school tutor

Hi Jackie, and and list members,

I watched the show and thought it was a brave and courageous

thing for you ALL to do. Thanks for sharing. I ended up taping it to

keep.

So, today when 's tutor came I told him that was too

sick to meet with him today. I had copied some material from Teaching

the Tiger for him and we stood there talking for awhile about

and his situation. It JUST HAPPENS that he was channel flipping that

night and came across the show. He watched it and came to some very

good conclusions about OCD, its treatment and how it effects people.

I can't tell you how much that helps.....you know the saying " is

everyone on the same page? " , well now I feel this tutor is closer to

understanding and feel that we are " on the same page " thanks to the

show.

I can't tell if doesn't want to meet with him because he

is unable to get his work done, Or if he is starting to have a

contamination issue around him. He told me today the guy gives him

the 'creeps'. We are having a school meeting tomorrow and I hope we

can come up with some more ideas. In the last two months there has

been very little work done and I am wondering if the school should

even continue with the tutor. We are also taking about next term

which starts Jan. 30th.

We are looking in to a residential treatment facility. I don't

want to get him started in another school class if he won't be able

to go.

Today had an appointment to get his teeth cleaned. At the

last min. he decided he couldn't go. AAAAHHHH! so frustrating! The

dentist called later and was nice about it and understanding. He said

we will take it slow and break up the apptointment so it will be

easier for him. Now if I can just get him through the door! (and he

has great teeth too!) well that's enough for now.

I have no idea if this helps or not, but since we have had 5 or 6 home

tutors, most of them were fine and kindly, but one or two were a little

stricter or less understanding, less willing to go with 's 'program "

I felt she was too ill to deal with teachers she couldn't take, and indeed,

all she would do was spit and complain and not learn, but these were

basically nice enough people, so yes, an OCD thing, an anxiety thing, also

our kids not being able to handle a challenge-- that challenge being the

people they are dealing with not always being 'just right'
