Guest guest
I just wanted to let everyone know what things are like in London. The city is very quiet. My neighbourhood is right by the underground stop that was a site of an explosion. Most people went to the local pub to be around friends this evening, we stopped by and enjoyed a drink then went home to have a quiet meal and be thankful that no one we knew was hurt. The day was eerie - I had to walk about 4 miles into work, and then again home. The roads had no traffic, and there were lots of determined people around. This evening I walked through the financial centre on my way home (not skyscrapers, but old buildings " the square mile " ) and I saw a woman sitting there just crying. Most people though are very calm, determined, and resolute - good stiff upper lip attitudes abound. I have an orthotic appointment tomorrow - it is strange, but in a weird way today means that my appointment will be better - I now know exactly where the new orthotics I have are not supporting well! Another friend told me that today was horrible, but a good excuse for me to train (as I am doing the weekend breast cancer walk in September). I am the type of person that tries to find the positive in things, and with a day like today we must all remember the positive side of life. Keep safe, Donna from London
Guest guest
Donna, So glad to hear from you and glad you and yours are all OK. I don't think this terrorism thing will ever end - just too much fanatiscm in the world today, but I sure pray it does end soon. Guest guest
Hi Donna: My thoughts are with you and all the other people in London in your hour of need. I am pleased to see you are okay. I am always so sad to hear about terrorist attacks and suicide bombers. For the life of me I do not understand how such actions can be done in the name of God. You won't believe this but they are playing Lennon's song IMAGINE right now. Stay safe.. ....and yes my ancestors do come from England. Guest guest
Donna, My heart and prayers are with all of you who have suffered so terribly. May you continue to find comfort in the support of family, friends, and all of us on this side of the Atlantic. Know too that we will always be your allies in this war against cowardly murderers. Though not in precisely the same way, we suffer with you. Very Best Wishes, Tom
