Hi Rob,

Hey I hope I don't offend you but I have had surgeries for CMT and so

has my son. We had one surgery and they did it all at once. Two different

doctors same surgery plan. Anyone else???

Hi ,

In my one surgery, it was all soft tissue - it was called 'tendon

transplants' or 'tendon tranfers'. Basically the tendons in my feet

were crisscrossed over each other and pulled tight which stopped the

rolling inward and outward of my feet. I was in plaster casts, immobile

for 6 weeks or so in bed, then graduated to walking casts for another 2-

4 weeks, I think. I had this done in 1962, when I was 10 and was in the

hospital for a week.

I only had the tendon surgery (soft tissue) - no reconstruction, no

bones broken, no pins, no ankle fusion, etc. I don't know how many

people have had this, or if this is what is now done with other

procedures all at once.

What the hay, it was the better part of one summer out of my young life

and I have no regrets, and that surgery has lasted all this time.
