Guest guest Posted August 18, 2005 Report Share Posted August 18, 2005 Hi , In my one surgery, it was all soft tissue - it was called 'tendon transplants' or 'tendon tranfers'. Basically the tendons in my feet were crisscrossed over each other and pulled tight which stopped the rolling inward and outward of my feet. I was in plaster casts, immobile for 6 weeks or so in bed, then graduated to walking casts for another 2- 4 weeks, I think. I had this done in 1962, when I was 10 and was in the hospital for a week. I only had the tendon surgery (soft tissue) - no reconstruction, no bones broken, no pins, no ankle fusion, etc. I don't know how many people have had this, or if this is what is now done with other procedures all at once.
