Hi Kerry,

Good for you for pushing yourself and getting your workout done. I wear my until I'm done with the entire workout, even through the stretching.

first of all, good going on your workout today kerry!

personally, i like to leave my HRM on while i stretch... i just like

to see the post-cardio (or post-strength training) burn continue

after im done. and i figure that stretching is working out too and

should be counted in my workout time.

Carolyn,

So far most of you leave your HRM, I just wondered how everyone did it.

Thanks for the encouragement,

Kerry

just wanted to add, as dianne on fitfirmies said, that if you leave

your HRM on while warming up/cooling down/stretching, then it will

yield a lower 'average heart rate' reading for the workout. some

people like to track that and therefore only want that info for the

main portion of their workout. personally i dont keep track of AHR.

Save your pennies, they are a good investment, I sure do like mine. Although I get upset with myself if I forget to turn it on before I start working out, and of course it will be for one of those intense workouts that I work really hard on so I can see my HR information. GRRRRRrrrrr. LOL!

Yes, I did read that Carolyn, and will take that into account. If I'm

wanting to track my HR just for the aerobic portion of a workout I'd

skip the wu and cd/s. I guess you could use it which ever way you

need to.

Thanks,

Kerry

oh i hate that too!! or else i will push the button to turn it on

and then workout, not realizing that my button pushing didnt take

effect. it is such a letdown to look at the watch after the workout

and see that it didnt record anything! ugh!

so now im almost obsessed with checking it repeatedly for the first

10 mins of each workout, to make sure it is going ok. LOL

Yes, it is the watch style with the chest strap. I thought I wouldn't like the chest strap, but it doesn't bother me at all. I can tuck it under my exercise bra and it stays in place. They do have a watch type that doesn't use the chest strap, but I've heard they aren't as accurate.

I've done that too, I've also been working so hard that I'll

accidentally hit the button and turn it off, so I have to keep

checking through the whole workout. A big letdown indeed.
