Guest guest
Hello, I'm Kay from Seaside, Oregon. I have CMT type 1-A. I'm 54, and have 3 adult children ( One child also has CMT) Recently I have lost my dad to cancer, my sister to CMT, (the deteriorating of the diaphragm) and went through a divorce. I truly believe stress and grief play havoc on our CMT. Six months ago I started using a wheelchair part time, and use crutches. I also have problems with my diaphragm deteriorating. My brother and mother also have CMT and still walk and get around without any complications. If my mother didn't have 3 children with CMT, she might not have ever been diagnosed. The good news is...we are all survivors and we know the only thing that really matters in life is, love. Three years ago I started my own real estate office so I could work at my own pace. I try to stay in the moment and remember when times are hard... " .This too shall pass " ... I feel so blessed to have found this site and hope in some way I can help someone and can learn from you. I hope you are enjoying your journey! Kay - Oregon
