(for Tom) I am preparing for a similar surgery on my left foot. I wasn't aware

that a cast would be involved. How far up your leg was the cast?

Hi ,

I had that surgery in Dec. My cast went up to my knee. It got changed every 2

weeks for 2-3 months. It was a long haul and lots of sitting around in a

wheelchair. I took almost 5 months off of work. It was worth it though. My foot

looks great. I just have to work on my balance. From sitting around so long -it

I was thinking that if I use a walker or crutches I can return to work in a few

weeks. My employer won't be happy if it's any longer than that.

The cast was just below my knee, which was great because I could bend my leg. I

was afraid it might go up my whole leg, but no--it stops below the knee.
