Guest guest
I'm trying to cut down on diet pop. Today I only drank two cans so that's really good for me because I usually drink double that! I read in Prevention magazine that pop even diet pop isn't good for you. It rots your teeth (the acid in the pop) and if you are drinking pop then you probably aren't getting enough calcium into your system. So knowing how I can get caffiene withdrawal headaches I've decided to try drinking one or two cans a day and then reduce further....so far so good. I'm going to replace the diet coke with skim milk and water. Although my dentist says that milk will rot my teeth tooth (because of sugar in the milk) still milk is better than diet coke. Anyone else trying to shake the pop habit? The Silk vanilla milk tastes pretty good on cereal and as a drink.vans

I'd like to go back to not ever drinking any pop and replacing it with milk would be good. What kind of milk are you going to change to, whole milk or skim? I always drink skim milk, but I have to put a tsp. of chocolate syrup in it or I can't drink it. Whole milk is really fattening. ~~
Guest guest
Good for you Jen. I really need to start drinking waterl. I never drink it unless I'm working out. I drink an average of 2 cans a day of diet pop too. Would love to get rid of that habit. I've done it once before, don't know why I seem to not be able to do it again. Want to go on some kind of challenge??? I think after a week or so it would be easier. It's just the first few days that are so tough.. Guest guest
I have found that if I need a quick pick me up, I drink a VERY cold tall glass of water quickly. The chill wakes me up to get me moving again. hth, Grace > volleyjen0416@... writes: > > Anyone else trying to shake the pop habit? > > > > > I drink diet A & W root beer. Guest guest
Hi , I drink skim milk and have for a long time now. If I get a taste of whole milk now it tastes like cream to me LOL Jenfitgrl222@... wrote: In a message dated 9/12/2006 11:25:12 P.M. Guest guest
I don't really drink it for a pick me up...I think I'm just addicted to the caffeine and the carbonation.... When I work I do bring a bottle of water to drink but I need it very very COLD or else I don't like it. Guest guest
I drink it for the carbination too. I drink caffeine free normally. It's weird, that you would get " addicted " to it, but I think it's possible!DarcyOn 9/13/06, from Michigan <volleyjen0416@...> wrote: I don't really drink it for a pick me up...I think I'm just addicted to the caffeine and the carbonation.... Guest guest
My wife and I gave up soda as our new year's resolution this year. We haven't missed it a bit. I had switched to diet for quite a while, but diet just isn't the same, so I figured " Why keep drinking it at all? " I was also inspired by my taekwondo instructor who is the same age as I am (37) but gave up soda like 20 years ago. He can now taste the carbonation even in supposedly non-carbonated drinks! I did allow myself one exception to the no-soda rule: It's okay to have soda with popcorn at a movie. (I only go to a movie about twice a year.) But the last time I did this the soda was so disgusting that I don't think I finished it. I have also had a couple of root beer floats this summer, but there's not a lot of root beer in them. If you can quit soda, it's a great thing. When I get a sweet craving I have a Tic Tac instead. > > > In a message dated 9/12/2006 11:25:12 P.M. Guest guest
Yes, as I said in an earlier post, the most soda I can take is a very SMALL sip and that's why. It tastes so nasty. And the first time I had some after a long time not having it, I was like " THIS is what I was drinking darn near 24/7? Guest guest
Hi Darcy, you aren't the only one doing bad with workouts...the only thing I've done this week was play volleyball two nights, that's it! I was planning to start turbo jam on Monday but now I will have to figure out a way for me to exercise in my computer room because my dvd/vcr died! Luckily it is still under warranty (only 2 yrs old) so they have to either fix it or replace it for FREE! But now I don't have a DVD player...except for my computer (plays DVDs) but the room is very small...I hope I can workout there.
