Wow Gretchen thanks.

Your observations are exactly what I need to hear. Yesterday we learned that my

son's test came back positive for CMT-X.

And he isn't doing well. Very strong mentally and handling this pretty well.

He has had symptoms of peripheral neuropathy for a while, and knew it was

getting worse,and feared that the doctors didn't believe him, that was tough.

The uncertainty is probably the toughest. Hard not to feel defeated.

I am hoping that he will realize that he does have some control over how he

feels. Like doing some of the things you have talked about... exercising, USING

the AFOs that he got, losing the excessive weight that he has gained and

realizing that no one really knows what the future holds except that it can

always hold some delights, with the right attitude.
