Guest guest
Wow Gretchen thanks. Your observations are exactly what I need to hear. Yesterday we learned that my son's test came back positive for CMT-X. And he isn't doing well. Very strong mentally and handling this pretty well. He has had symptoms of peripheral neuropathy for a while, and knew it was getting worse, and feared that the doctors didn't believe him, that was tough. The uncertainty is probably the toughest. Hard not to feel defeated. I am hoping that he will realize that he does have some control over how he feels. Like doing some of the things you have talked about... exercising, USING the AFOs that he got, losing the excessive weight that he has gained and realizing that no one really knows what the future holds except that it can always hold some delights, with the right attitude. Thanks again for your insight. Ladybug (Barb)
