Guest guest
: I don't have the " characteristic " legs, but have CMT. The DNA testing that I had several years ago came back negative, but my neurologist said that isn't unusual because there are so many types that haven't been identified as of yet. My family (in St. Louis) is actually involved in a study that includes families in Russia that is possibly a new type. I haven't kept up with the results lately. I don't live there and decided not to be included in the study when asked because of the travel. Anyway, back to the subject... my oldest son, who is exhibiting all types of symptons - drop foot, numbness and fatigue DOES have what looks like a classic CMT leg, and this is just two in my family that have different shaped legs. Next time there's a family reunion, I'll check out everybodys legs for you! LOL. It kind of sounds like this doctor is test happy. You might want to get another opinion before you go to all that expense and stress of tests. Good Luck!
