Guest guest
Hi everyone, Well, I guess the " Isn't he? " " Is he? " (OCD) question that I've been waffling over the last year about my almost 6 year old son looks to be answered. I admit...I was in denial over the sock seam issue. So much easier to just buy those awesome seamless socks. But... has recently learned to snap his fingers. It was cute for awhile until it started to seem, well....a little compulsive. Anxiety-producing in fact when I asked him to stop because it was too distracting during storytime. I asked him why he snapped so much and got the dreaded answer: " It seems like something bad might happen if I don't. " So I guess count me in for two OCD kids. We started our one minute non-snapping exposure tonight. I'm still looking for some OCD relative I haven't uncovered that would account for the genetics of two OCD kids, seeing as how neither one has experienced anything that could remotely be construed as a trauma. We do, however, have lots of relatives with alcoholism, depression, anxiety, and my bi-polar dad so I guess the family tree is conducive enough. Sheeez...I guess there's no rest for the weary, huh? Take care, in San Diego
