Guest guest
wow, that sounds kind of loose. if it were me, i would not hesitate to call. it is my belief to rather be safe than sorry. the doctor will be able to tell you if something needs to be done or not. tracey hope you guys are doing well! :-) Loose Cast!? O.K. I feel like I am either complaining that the cast is too tight ortoo loose. This time I think it is WAY to loose. I can stick myhand/fingers in the back window and touch my hand/fingers through thefront stomach part in both the right and left side. And, it is soloose at the bottom, diapering is easy. I don't even have to do thedouble diaper thing. It is so loose and open at the bottom, I can fitand fasten one diaper right up into it. Does that make sense? If Ineeded to, I could probably pull it right over his head without muchdifficulty. What do you all think? Anyone ever have a really loose cast and stillget results? It just seems like it defeats the purpose, and I don'twant to waist two months. What should I do? Call the doc, or stick itout. I'm thinking I'll call and he'll tell me it's just fine. I don'tknow. What should I do? and Cole (3rd cast with 13 degree cobb)
Guest guest
: I would call and speak with one of the nurses. Actually, the cast that Mrs. Mehta applied to was very loose. I called several times and spoke with our care coordinator and was told that this cast was different/that she did not think we needed to do anything. However, when we got back to Erie in January, we saw that 's back had progressed. 's curve is much more severe than Cole's. This is our 13th cast. is three now. We started casting at 18 months. She had been held at 60 degrees and corrected back to 35 - 40 degrees for the first 18 months. The last cast could only correct her 5 degrees to 55. It seems that the loose cast gave her too much time without the support to maintain the correction that we had been getting. Again, 's is more severe - we have given up hope of correction but are certainly hoping to maintain as long as possible. Again, I would call and speak with a nurse - would probably be best. Let her know how loose it is and make sure that it is okay. You guys are doing too good to loose ground now. Just my opinion! Mayes Atlanta > > O.K. Guest guest
I agree, I'd call as well. I called and talked to the care coord. the first week we had Evan home and even e-mailed and spoke w/Dr. to ease my mind!! They had talked like they-d re-cast him b/c it was shifting so much, but it seems to have stopped shifting so much, but his is looser than I expected as well. I always err on the side of caution and would rather be safe than sorry, so I wouldn't hesitate to call-you don't want the cast to be for nothing for 2 whole months!! and Evan Claflin <noellesmommy@...> wrote: When in doubt, call.
