Guest guest
Hi Anya: Glad to see you here! :-) Thanks for the tip on the Kosher salt...it's great on homemade pretzels, too! Guest guest
Hi Kathy: Welcome to the group! :-) I package my scrubs in plastic 4 oz. jars with screw-on lids...makes it easy to scoop out. One thing I should point out about selling this to the public: it contains no preservatives. The vitamin E is not a preservative, only an anti-oxidant for the oils as well as beneficial to the skin. The formula is water-free, and will stay fresh on the shelf for a number of months (mine are going on 7 months...no problems). Basically, if a formula contains no water, bacteria and fungus cannot thrive. Now this is not to say that the consumer won't add water or accidentally introduce moisture into the product through everyday use and considering that it will probably be used in the bathroom, it is a real possibility. You may want to include a small plastic scoop or package the scrub in flip-top squeeze bottles to limit the risk. A disclaimer on the label could also be included: " In order to maintain the freshness of this product, do not introduce water into the container. " Or something similar... Finally, you may decide you want to use a chemical preservative. I have very little experience in this area, but there are quite a few list-members that can help you in selecting one that would be appropriate for this product. Good luck! :-) Cat > I saw your email. I am new to this group. Would you be willing to send me > your coffee scrub recipie?
